WEXT Premiers 'Denver'

 WEXT will be broadcasting the world premiere of "Denver (Spinning Around)" on Friday  June 12.  They are the first radio station to have the CD and I'm excited they have chosen 'Denver' as it's one of my favorites.

More Stuff

There are now 9 yes, 9 demos up from 'Ria'.  This is almost the whole album.  Check them out here:  Ria Demos
Also, you may have noticed that some of the songs are playing in the site-wide player as well.  These are encoded at a bit lower rate and don't sound as good, so listen to the demos on the demos page.  This requires a broadband connection for best results.

I want to thank Chris Weinke from WEXT for spending some time with me and listening to the songs I dropped off for them to play on the radio.  I should know early next week what and when they are playing.  Stay tuned for updates....

I wanted the album out by months end, but I can't get the mastering done until early June, which delays the final copy being back, but there will be songs available for download sooner here on the site.  Look for that, a pre-sale and be sure to join the 'members' section as there will be FREE stuff and special pre-sale offers available to members only.

Radio/Update

 The songs are nearly done!  Monday I am doing my pre-mastering meeting.  Tuesday I am driving down to WEXT to drop off a disc with 4-5 songs on it.  They will begin playing them shortly thereafter.  I am giving them "Actress", "Top of the World", "Denver (Spinning Around)", "Sunshine", and "The Sea".

Also, up on the 'ria demos' page 'Actress' is available.  I've been trying to load up 'The Sea' but it's not working right now, so check back.

"Ria" near completion/New Demos posted

 It's been too long since I've posted any news.  It's been a crazy 6 weeks for me. I went to Florida, my Grandmother died, I got a new dog, my oldest dog nearly died, then my jusky mix got a face full of porcupine....so I had to push back the release of the album to May 21.  
However, there are 2 brand new songs up on the music page.  Click on "Ria Demos" and start the player.  More will be up by the end of the week.  I hope you like them.  

In the coming weeks, I hope to have all the tracks up for preview.  Also, as the actual CD's get pressed and I get ready for radio play, I will need your help in picking the 3 songs I will present to radio stations.  I have it narrowed down to 6 in my head and I will be asking for votes.  Thanks to everyone who has listened so far and given me feedback--it's been a great help.

Finally, the songs will debut on WEXT 97.7fm in Albany, NY.  They also have a webcast so everyone can listen in.  I will be posting the air date as soon as I get them the songs.

 It's been a crazy month for me.  I had planned on having all the work wrapped up by the end of March on the new album then life happened.  I went to Florida for some vacation time, returned home, my Grandmother passed away and my dog nearly died the same weekend.  Then I got a new puppy and my husky got into a porcupine.  Suddenly it seemed like the date went from March 20 to April 20.  

Everything is back to normal now though.  I had to adjust the release schedule a bit.  The album is now due by May 21st.  I have posted 2 demos on a new page under 'Music'.  Simply click on 'Ria Demos' and take a listen.  These are nearly complete.  Toying around with last minute vocal ideas and mixes.  More will be posted by the end of the month.

I will be debuting the songs on WEXT 97.7 in Albany, NY.  They also have a webcast for everyone around the country to tune in to as well.  Visit them at www.exit977.org for more info.  I will be posting the air date here.

Finally, as I post up the songs, I need your help in selecting the 3 songs I will send to radio stations.  I have it narrowed down to 6.  Voting will begin soon.

More demos coming, finish date etc....

 The weather is turning springlike here in the northeast and I for one am very happy.  It seemed like a long winter.  The CD is nearly complete.  I have been posting demos up in the members area.  Sign up now to hear them.  I will have some more up this week.  I think that the whole thing will be done by next weekend, then to the mastering room, duplication etc.  I will have the whole album up streaming here by April 1, and it will be available for purchase as mp3's only at that point to.  Also, there will be a pre-sale special where you can get the mp3 version of the album in addition to the full length CD before it's available.  All of this will be exclusive to members of the webpage.  

In the weeks to follow that , the songs will be up on I-Tunes, Rhapsody etc and available for order online.

New Demos/Album Update

 There is a new demo in the members area of "Denver (Spinning Around)".  It still needs some mixing etc, but check it out!

The album is almost done.  I'm finishing up lyrics and vocals.  It's been a long cycle this time, but well worth the wait I think.  Everyone who has listened to the rough songs has given me the best feedback.  Thanks to all of you.  

There will be more songs added soon as they get to an 'almost finished' stage.  As the mixes get finalized, there will be some up for download to members.
